"Anger is an outward expression of fear, hurt or frustration." – Dr. Phil

I'm frustrated because I'm tired of putting on a fake face. For the past years, I have been pretending that I am okay. I have become very good at hiding the way I feel from other people.

From this day forward, I'm going to allow myself to open up to life. I'm going to put the past in the past. I can't change the past, so why keep dragging it along with me.

This is who I am. I hope you like it, but even if you don't, at least you know who you're dealing with.

On Valentine's Day, we think of people who have cheered and encouraged us. Who have gone out of their way to be kind and caring. who have enriched our lives, just by being themselves. Happy Valentine's Day!

Feelings of shame create deep, personal pain that we try to ignore and hide. We don't want anyone else to see us as we fear we are.

So, we make a mask to hide behind, not realizing that we are covering all that is good, beautiful and unique about us.

I admit that I wear a mask. Knowing is half the battle. I am committed to living a maskless life. I owe it to myself.

If you find yourself doing this, in choosing to wear a mask you are missing the opportunity to share who you really are.

Love yourself and be yourself.

If you were asked to take off your MASK and BE all that you are, each and every day, could you do it?

I'm evolving into the person I want to be.

I must admit, being judgmental is a learned trait, and is hard to unlearn.

However, I now find myself being less judgmental of others, and more accepting of their behaviors.

I'm Feeling Real Good.....About the NEW Me!!!!

My video blog entry from November 3, 2010.

Outspoken: (adjective) Frank in stating ones opinions, especially when they are controversial or critical.

I'm asked a lot why I'm so outspoken.  Most people are scared to expose themselves, I'm scared not to. I'm scared of the moment that occurs when you decide NOT to use your voice because you're afraid of the reaction. I'm not afraid of the fallout of speaking, I'm afraid of losing myself when I don't speak.

If you don't speak up for yourself, who else will?

I find this an extraordinarily difficult task. How do I go about charting this new lifestyle for myself? Part of my problem, I've decided, is breaking through the heavy layers of my denial.

I have always been a very strong-willed and driven person, and I guess this has helped me to survive many crises throughout my life. My denial, too, is a survival and coping device. Now, I must take my strong will and determination and direct it toward creating a healthier lifestyle for myself. I can no longer afford to be in denial!

Dr. Phil talks about how life can be a great experience, full of enjoyment. I understand, I get it!!! But, letting go of those painful emotions isn't easy, and for most of us it doesn't come naturally.

Thanks for all the Love & Support.

XOXO
