The shooting death of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin sent shockwaves through the country last year and sparked huge debate over whether the gunman, George Zimmerman’s, life was truly in danger at the time. Recently, many were stunned when a jury of six women acquitted Zimmerman of second-degree murder and all other charges, and protests ignited across the country. Did the justice system fail? Or was justice served? Dr. Phil is joined by human rights activist Martin Luther King III, who weighs in on the verdict and what has become one of the biggest civil rights debates since the Rodney King incident. Then, criminal defense attorney Mark Eiglarsh and journalist and host of TV One’s new show News One Now Roland Martin join the discussion. Hear their insight into the not guilty verdict. Plus, what does the future hold for Zimmerman? Dr. Phil weighs in.

Medical examiner, Shiping Bao, is claiming that George Zimmerman shot Trayvon Martin in the back but lied in court under duress. He is claiming that all involvled intentionally trashed Trayvon Martin's case because he deserves to be dead. The funeral director also claims that TM's body showed no evidence of him having been in a fight. There were no cuts or bruises on his knuckles. Seems like the only way possible to get any kind of justice is to have the case looked at by foreigners. Foreigners appear to be more objective. Thank you to the Canadians and Australians and other foreigners for your objective comments on this case.

This trial was never about racism. Ask TM's parents. The face that you are making this about racism proves how narrow minded you may be. Get the correct facts please. This whole thing is an absolute mess and a terrible tragedy so don't make it something that it's not.

Probably should get the facts straight. Listen to the entire trial. GZ was found not guilty of the crime he was charged with. The American way is to be judged by a jury of your peers. This is what the public wanted. It is the outcome of this trial. Get your facts straight please.

All this support for the murderer- what about the INNOCENT victim and his grieving family?  You are ALL racist, intellectually deficient and evil.  You have no empathy, and never will have.  I am so SHOCKED by the posts on this forum- so many narrow minded evil people.  And you wonder why so many people hate Americans- you are unable to think logically and independently, you just learn to be jingoistic and unquestioning from birth.

You Americans are just wrong in the head regarding gun ownership and usage.  If carrying a gun is meant to PROTECT you, then why do you have such high rates of gun crime including murder by guns? GZ had no right to stalk Trayvon Martin, no right to get out of the car and confront him with a gun.  There's no doubt in the minds of every Australian I have spoken to that GZ MURDERED Trayvon and that it was Trayvon who was the victim who acted in self defence and Zimmerman was a murderer.  If you lot were truly able to be empathetic, then you would be ashamed of yourselves but that's just not the American Way, is it?

Why should GZ have 'waited for help' when Trayvon wasn't doing anything WRONG?  GZ wasn't in any danger- racist paranoia is a not a defence for stalking and murdering an innocent teeager!  The only help GZ and his many supporters need is with their MENTAL HEALTH and NARROW MINDED BIGOTRY.  Your whole thinking is wrong from the get go.  Trayvon was as innovent as a person can get and Zimmerman is as guilty as a person can get- this judgement is a travesty as is the poor intellectual state of you racist deniers.

It would surprise me if people would still try to ask for justice after Mark Eiglarsh, Criminal Defense Attorney already confirmed that 'Trials ... they're not about the truth; it’s what the prosecution can prove'.

Trayvon didn't confront and threaten Zimmerman- he was no doubt terrified because a man was tailing him in a car,  and then got out and confronted him with a gun.  Trayvon acted in self defence, Zimmerman acted out of gun toting bravado, racism and paranoia.  How can you live with yourself?  Trying to blame an innocent teenager for being murdered, because he WAS murdered and he WAS innocent.  Zimmerman would have ignored a white teenager and drove on home minding his own business.  Zimmerman CHOSE to stalk him, chose to confront him and chose to murder him because Trayvon was black and Zimmerman was and is a RACIST.

Trayvon Martin was murdered.  George Zimmerman is a paranoid racist and gun freak who killed a black child.  Zimmerman followed Trayvon BECAUSE Trayvon was black and Zimmerman was a racist.  If it was a white teenager, Zimmerman would have not paid any attention and just gone home.  Instead he deliberately FOLLOWED Trayvon and got out of his car armed with a gun and confronted the kid who would have been scared, having being tailed and now cronfronted by a gun weilding man.  It was TRAYVON, NOT Zimmerman who acted in self defence.  Trayvon did not approach Zimmerman, it was the other way around. Zimmerman caused Trayvon's death by his racist idiocy and paranoia.  Zimmerman was WRONG and he is GUILTY of murder.  Your 'legal' system is the laughing stock of the civilized world.  And so a white male murderer walks free and yet recently a black woman was sentenced to 20 years in prison for firing 20 gun shots into the AIR, hitting NO ONE in her attempt to frighten away a former violent partner who she had a restraining order in place on.  And you guys think you're not racist?  OK- you're not racist, you're STUPID.
